Isolate Vs Insulate

Have these words stuck in my head from an article I read, "Christians shouldn't  isolate themselves from the world, they need to insulate themselves" I can't remember who said that, but, what I took from it was, you can't hide from what goes on in the world, you need to be aware and ready to deal with it, head on. How can you have an opinion on something, if you don't know what you're talking about? No wonder people think we're wacky!
